At the beginning of 2023, we launched a new program called “Help to Family-Type Children’s Homes.”<\/h2>\n

A Family-Type Children’s Home is a separate family created by the desire of a couple or an individual, which takes in and lives with no fewer than 5 orphaned or parentally deprived children. In other words, it is a large foster family.<\/p>\n

A foster family contributes to improving living conditions, the development, and upbringing of children. It also creates a strong foundation for their future independent adult life.<\/p>\n

The “Help to Family-Type Children’s Homes” program was created in response to the challenging circumstances faced by these families after February 24, 2022. Those families residing in temporarily occupied territories or near the front line lost their homes, left all their property, and started a new life from scratch.<\/p>\n

Those living in relatively safe areas also did not remain unaffected by the full-scale war. Loss of income, rising prices for essential goods and services, difficulties in education, blackouts, security issues, and more.<\/p>\n\t\t\t

With the start of full-scale war, the needs of the family increased. War affected us back in 2014 when we were forced to leave and never return home. Our native city is occupied, and we lost our house in 2015. The “Help to Family-Type Children’s Homes” program is created with an understanding of these challenges and aims to provide effective assistance to families in all areas affected by the war, regardless of their place of residence.<\/p>\n

IN 2023, WE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO 51 FAMILY-TYPE CHILDREN’S HOMES AMOUNTING TO APPROXIMATELY 1.1 MILLION UAH. <\/h2>\n

We conducted a brief survey to analyze the effectiveness of our work and the satisfaction level of aid recipients, with the participation of 46 foster parents of Family-Type Children’s Homes. According to the results:<\/h3>\n

        \n Among the main difficulties they faced after evacuation, they mention: purchasing\/renting new housing and paying utilities (45,6%)<\/strong>, household provision (39,1%)<\/strong>, food and basic needs (23,9%)<\/strong>, medical services (15,2%)<\/strong>, children’s education (15,2%)<\/strong>, processing payments and documents (13%)<\/strong>, socialization (13%)<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

          \n 43,5 %<\/strong> are forced to rent housing, putting a significant strain on the family budget.\n <\/div>\n<\/li>\n

          \n 54,3 %<\/strong> indicated that they have family members who require special support or attention, especially due to specific needs or the need for treatment.\n <\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Despite these challenges, Family-Type Children’s Homes play an extremely important role in creating a balanced and safe environment for the development of children who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances. Supporting such families is an investment in the future of society, creating conditions for the healthy and happy growth of a new generation.<\/p>\n

            While Family-Type Children’s Homes are not a substitute for a child’s biological family, they provide a safe and supportive environment where children grow in love and care, build family relationships, and learn family values, with their safety and well-being as a priority.<\/p>\n

            In 2024, we will continue to support Family-Type Children’s Homes and strive not only to increase the number of families receiving assistance but also to improve our programs based on accumulated experience and results. In 2024, our efforts will focus not only on the immediate needs of families but also on items that contribute to the education and development of children, such as computer equipment, children’s room furnishings, books, and the development of their hobbies and sports skills.<\/p>\n
