On Friday, July 19, 2024, together with our friends and partners Vodafone Ukraine<\/a>, as part of the project to support Ukrainian medical institutions, we donated a stationary lift POOL E-185 worth 350,000 UAH (approx. 8,500$) to the “Halychyna” rehabilitation center in Lviv. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This lift is designed for performing exercises in the pool and is an essential part of the center’s physiotherapy equipment, allowing effective procedures and exercises in water for 20-25 patients per day<\/strong>. It will significantly facilitate their physical recovery, help reduce pain, and improve mobility.<\/p>\n

As hydrotherapy becomes a crucial component of the rehabilitation process, especially for patients with spinal injuries, loss of lower limbs, and contractures, the use of a special lift is extremely important to ensure the safe and comfortable transfer of patients into the water and to conduct exercises in the pool.<\/p>\n\n

“Together with the team of rehabilitation specialists, we have developed a step-by-step rehabilitation program, where each patient will undergo treatment progressively,” explains the director of the institution, Hryhoriy Hryhorovych Dunas. “Upon mastering 60% of the skills of the first stage, the patient can move on to the second stage, which presents new challenges requiring greater activity. Gradually, basic training is complemented by pool exercises, kinesiotherapy, and recreational activities on rehabilitation sports grounds. Play is a tremendous driving force; what seems impossible on a machine is quickly overcome during play, fueled by the excitement of the game.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

In water, the patient’s body weight is reduced, which helps to decrease the load on joints and muscles. This is especially important for individuals with limited mobility who often cannot perform physical exercises due to pain. In the water, these exercises become more accessible, aiding in the improvement of joint flexibility and mobility.<\/p>\n

The “Halychyna” Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center has twenty years of experience in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services. Nearly 80% of the center’s patients have lost limbs due to injuries sustained during the war in Ukraine. Currently, around 300 patients are receiving treatment and rehabilitation at the center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is not the first assistance provided to the center; this year we have also equipped the facility with such equipment as a neuromyograph, a Luna suspension system, and an ergo table for hand motor skills development, with more details available through the link<\/a>.<\/p>\n
