As part of the “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, implemented with the support of our partner GlobalGiving, we have delivered modern medical equipment \u2014 a resectoscope and laparoscopic instruments \u2014 worth 929,270 UAH to the gynecology department of Lviv Regional Hospital, named after Y. Lypa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This equipment enables minimally invasive and low-trauma surgical procedures, which contribute to faster recovery and reduced risk of post-operative complications. For a long time, the department lacked such tools \u2014 now doctors can provide care to women more effectively and safely.<\/p>\n

The gynecology department treats women affected by the war \u2014 those wounded, evacuated, internally displaced, or undergoing rehabilitation with related gynecological conditions. The department\u2019s doctors are trained in modern laparoscopic techniques and follow international clinical protocols.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe are deeply grateful for the equipment that allows us to perform hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries. This advanced technology enables us to carry out minimally invasive operations in full, shorten patients\u2019 hospital stays, and deliver care according to global standards,\u201d \u2014 said Dr. Valentyna Skliarova, obstetrician-gynecologist at the hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Providing quality gynecological care during wartime is not only about medical treatment. It is about preserving women\u2019s health, reproductive rights, the right to motherhood, and the future<\/em><\/strong>. It is a key step toward restoring dignity, well-being, and stability for women who have endured profound physical and emotional trauma.<\/p>\n

In just the past three months, the department has performed 140 surgeries<\/strong> \u2014 that\u2019s around 560 women per year<\/strong>, each with a unique story but an equal right to care and quality treatment.<\/p>\n

Just three years ago, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, there was no gynecology department at the hospital \u2014 everything was built from scratch. Today, it is a fully functioning unit equipped with modern tools, staffed by skilled professionals, and offering high-quality medical care \u2014 the result of extensive collaborative efforts and strong partnerships.<\/p>\n
